I've just read an interview with paul Begg on JtR forums that answer some of the early questions on this thread..

I'm not certain if I'm aloud to post links but I'm sure someone will say if I've broken any casebook rules.

Thanks for that, Pirate. Many would not have seen that otherwise. Only 5 questions? First for the good stuff...

        1) More on Cutbush. That is welcome.
        2) I made Paul smile. That's what I'm here for.
        3) The buck got passed to Fido. He writes the book, Paul's just the spokesperson, while Keith Skinner hangs out with Ripperology's fringe.
        4) Less editorializing.

        The bad and the odd...

        1) The Diary, a demonstratable hoax, gets "more space than it deserves" according to the A-Z's own editor.
        2) Begg 'welcomes information', unless it's actually offered, then it's refused.
        3) Mike Covell and Chris Scott are mentioned together in the same sentence.

Oh well, with virtually no good Ripper books for some time now, the A-Z will be a welcome read. And with hardly any decent threads of debate going on, this is sure to stir a few up.

        Yours truly,

        Tom Wescott
