I can't recall where I got it from. I do wonder if it was originally in a better format than jpg, such as tiff or png.

Anyway, below is a link to the jpg. Any chance you could colourise it? The second link is a png of the photo that shows the 2 windows of MJK's room taken outside. It's resolution is 2380 x 1920. I wouldn't mind seeing it colourised as well. The png is about 8MB.

Thanks for that Ozzy. The version I had was very low res compared to what you supplied. Casebook limits to 2mb uploads so the MJK crime scene #2 is lower res than the one I saved. If you want it https://we.tl/t-aGZ7vkvcKs (link valid for 7 days)

          Many thanks erobitha.
I wish I had a hi-res version of the other MJK scene pictures. The one showing here legs in the foreground, and then the table.
My version is quite dark. It's only 624 x 964. Here's a link if you want to give it a go.
          These are not clues, Fred.
It is not yarn leading us to the dark heart of this place.
They are half-glimpsed imaginings, tangle of shadows.
And you and I floundering at them in the ever vainer hope that we might corral them into meaning when we will not.
          We will not.

Some fresh ones out of the oven. This batch is courtesy of The Sun online which ran an online gallery 'Jack The Ripper's Old Haunts'. Caption details are a little sparse. Estimated they are all from around 1888. The ladies outside the pub is Chrisp Street.

From The Liverpool Echo's online gallery 'Jack The Ripper's London'. It is estimated from 1965.

Great stuff Erobitha. We all love the old black and white photos but the addition of colour does bring them to life. Great to see.
                      Regards
