Jack the Rpper - Michael Caine one.

I received this for Christmas and spent some of last night watching it. I was wondering if anyone has any idea where it was filmed? Some bits seemed quite authentic and I was wondering if they were created sets.
I remember watching this for the first time in 1988, my Dad recorded it for me as I was only 8. Slightly worrying to think now that I am 30!

    Hi Kate,

A lot of filming took place at Holloway Sanatorium which is in Sussex. The murder sites and a few interiors were filmed there.
The Star Newspaper offices were in Carmelite Street near Blackfriars Station.
Those are the locations that spring to mind.

      Thanks Rob!
I was intrigued as some areas are clearly rebuilt but some seemed to be pretty authentic.

The scenes where Abberline's talking to the doctors and coach driver were shot at Somerset House in London.

If you got the DVD version, there should be extras on it with director's commentary and what not which goes through all that sort of thing.

          Cheers,
          Adam.
