  • I had a thought...

Maybe, after "Scarlett" that explores Kelly's final hours in a modernized setting, maybe I should explore the Night of the Double Murder, making it a prequel to "Scarlett".

Now a lot of people that have seen "Scarlett" have said it ends with a cliffhanger and that I should consider making it a sequel, but there really is no story I want to tell AFTER the events of Kelly's death.

    What do you folks think?

I'd like to add that I may want to move on to other projects after "Scarlett" and I want to do something on the U.S. Troops, but it all depends on whether I find a right story for my troops storyline. And the Night of the Double Murder story woulds all depend on if you people like "Scarlett" or not.

I think it's an excellent idea, but definitely pace yourself.

I've taken on too many things recently and was overwhelmed.

            Hey DarkTale,

Would you mind if I offered a suggestion? Maybe you should think about doing one on the Annie Chapman murder. The reason for doing so is because, in my opinion, I think Annie was the most tragic of all the Ripper victims. She had one child who was a cripple and another die very young. Aside from that, at the time of the her homicide, she was dying...although she didn't know it at the time. Besides that, she was also involved in a very violent fight the morning before she was killed. Also, the circumstances of her murder, I think, are very creepy, what with the statements by Liz Long and Albert Cadosch.

So, if you made a modern re-telling of her murder, using all of the elements mentioned above, I think it could come across as being both very tragic and scary at the same time. Just a thought.
I won't make any deals. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed,de-briefed, or numbered!

Yes Annie certainly deserves to have her story told. In the photo of her alive she looks as though she is looking into the future and seeing all the tragedy to come.

I've never really been much interested in any of the murders other then Kelly's. The reason I would've done the Night of the Double Murder was to explore the Ripper's side of the story. As it isn't really revealed in "Scarlett". It only hints as to why he kills...

At one point in "Scarlett" the Ripper tells Kelly (Scarlett) that "It is a whore like you that created a monster like me, and as you know, it is the nature of a monster to kill their maker."

But other then that, nothing. That could mean anything...

The story only focuses on Kelly's final hours and current relationship with Barnett (Ethan).

The Night of the Double Murder would depict the Ripper's mind, Stride's death, "Lipski", Eddowes death and the Torso murder (Even though I don't believe the Ripper was responsible for the Torso murder -- I do want to add it in there.)

As for Annie's murder, we shall see, I do however like your idea JTR.

                  Hi,
Must admit I was quiet impressed with your snippit of film, it really brings the gap of time right up to the present, and gives us all an insight what may have happened in that dingy room in millers court back in 1888.
I have my reservations however, about attempting to bring forward other victims into the present.
These murders very much belong in victorian London, and serial killers today have no bearing, to the mental state of Jack, who lived in a different era.
                  Regards Richard.

                    Glad you liked it, Richard.

While I agree with you, like I said, it was just a thought. I may be too busy with other projects to even do it, but wanted to get people's opinion on it.
