Did anyone else watch the JtR documentary on the History Channel tonight? Our own Philip Hutchinson was in it. He was only sparingly used, and the doc would have been better off with more of him giving the tour, although it is always good to see Donald Rumbelow. Anyway, if anyone else saw this give us your opinion. Let us know what you thought.

Hi BillyE,
I put the forewarning up on the true-crime media alert thread preshow yesterday and there's some stuff over there on it. You don't say anything that I disagree with. This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

The History Channel TV show was great. Very up-to-date with the blending of old and new through computer graphics. Many top experts - Rumbelow, Hitchinson, Trow, Lindsay Siviter, Richard Jones, Coroner Dean, curators from London Museum. Just excellent.

Hi All,
The Jack the Ripper PR machine in full swing.
Same old story, nice graphics and reconstructions, some unforgivable gaffs, and good to see my old friend Don Rumbelow looking so chipper.
Who is Lindsay Siviter?

Simon,
Ooh you are awful.
Lindsey attends the WS meeting, she gave a talk there last week. She has appeared on another doc along with Richard Jones. Cant remember its name, even though its on my shelf somewhere. It was a great doc, one of the best...though the mention of a hatchet being used on Kelly was a tad naughty.
She also does a mean Dolly Parton routine.

Hi Monty,
Thanks for the info on Lindsey Siviter [sorry I spelled her christian name wrongly]. Do you mean she can sing, or has other attributes?
I wouldn't go so far as to say it was a "great doc" [it was too samey and repetitive for greatness], but I do hope its professional production values put an end to those effing awful amateur efforts which keep popping up on YouTube.

Simon,
In order, I was referring to a different doc and her signing.

He said "top experts", Philip. Obviously he wasn't referring to you, but to a top expert named Hitchinson.

Hi Monty,
Ah Ha! Lindsey does Dolly Parton for the deaf. Only kidding. My spoll chicker often lets me down.
What's the title of the documentary?

UNMASKING JACK THE RIPPER, a popular DVD on sell-thru that Richard released in 2005. It's the one featuring Zena Shine and that Kosminski stuff.
GM, beware. I am now a God (well, a sort-of God in one room in Knoxville, anyway).

Bailey,
I cant remember. There has been talk about this on the boards. Lot of debate on Kellys left leg. Think there was some chat on interpretation of Bonds and police reports.
And I suspect all this was happening whilst they were making the doc and someone did a Fido.
