Couple more 3D attempts at N0.13

I was trying to produce some more realistic renders of No13 but I'm still not getting there! These images (below) are the result. They look okay but they are certainly not realistic. They still look artificial, like illustrations/drawings/computer graphics which was not my intention.

I'm going to spend a bit of time learning how to create realism and hopefully, I can get some results that are closer to a photorealistic image. Like this one below (in my dreams!):

    Hi Richard

They're quite good, but could I suggest one or two things?

    Partition needs to look dirtier.

Pic too sunny - Kelly's room faced north, plus it was November. Also bed posts look too shiny - I doubt if they were ever polished and a thick layer of dust seems more appropriate.

Small point here, but if that thick candle is a farthing dip, then I reckon it was a bargain.

I think you're being a bit hard on yourself Richard.

I think they are really good efforts, and certainly help me understand the interior of number 13 Millers Court.

        Thanks for the replies, friends

Had another test today, just testing with the small table until I reach a 'eureka' moment (if ever).

here's a test image for today:

the best bit of the above image (for me) is the background brick and plaster walls.

I think you've unearthed some previously unknown photographs of Kelly's room....

Brilliant as ever Richard, just stunning.

I always thought her bed was iron.

Thanks for the replies and feedback.
I am aiming for these images to actually be photo realistic, so yes, I want people to think/assume that they are looking at photos of the room - but I'm still not there yet. I am going to continue work on these until I get to a 'photo'. It is possible... in the right hands!

GUT, I think the bed is wooden. It looks like it in the single MJK1 photo. Would appreciate confirmation on this though.

                    Regarding the images above:

I have the small table just about right and the floorboards are okay. The partition hasn't been done yet but the partition 'door' is getting there. The bed is wrong! I have the shape and model almost right but the texturing is appalling (if you see it before the post-processing 'aged' filters). At the moment the bed looks like it's made from chocolate! too smooth and new looking. Those vintage aged/vignette filters hide a multitude poor looking stuff on my part

Today (Tuesday 4th July) I will begin again toward the photo realism I am trying to achieve.

                    Thanks

It always had the look of wood about it to me, but I may be wrong.

I think it's fine work, really promising.

And am I the only person on the boards who has fantasized about owning a bed made of chocolate? Imagine.... you'd be fighting the girls off with a sharp stick. They'd form an orderly queue at the door. "Two at a time, please, girls, you'll all get a turn don't worry...."
