I’ve recently discovered two old UK TV shows which I love. They are currently showing on the Talking Pictures channel so I don’t know if they are available elsewhere for non-UK residents.
The first is Sergeant Cork
A great Victorian-era crime show with Sergeant Cork using modern, scientific methods to catch crimes with his assistant Marriott. Apparently they did 66 episodes which are available on DVD. This is a cracking series. I’ve watched around 6 so far and have loved every one.
The second is The Mind of Mr. J.G. Reader.
Reeder is a brilliant investigator for the Department of Public Prosecutions. The stories were written by Edgar Wallace (I’ve just bought the collection on Kindle very cheaply) They did 2 series of 16 episodes in total. Another great series, well worth a look if you get chance.
If you are in the UK I’d suggest that you record these two great series. A couple of gems imo.
