I was scanning through on-demand movies and this one came to my attention. Since I like all things Ripper, I gave it a shot.
In short? Avoid this one. Super low budget (there's a total of maybe 10 actors and maybe 4 sets used in the entire movie). It plays fast and loose with the actual crimes (it leaves out Kate Eddowes and Elizabeth Stride entirely and places the killing of Mary Kelly in a bordello, for some reason) and uses an absurd plot twist at the end. Spoilers: originally, the coroner suspects to his horror that he may be killing these women while blackout drunk, but later his wife confesses to killing the women because...she's angry about his drinking and womanizing? Yeah, it's bad.
It does include the detail that the Ripper letters were being faked by a sleazy journalist, so that was kind of a nice detail. Oh, and the wife who turns out to be the killer feeds her husband a kidney from one of the victims, although Kate Eddowes isn't in the movie, so it's unclear whose kidney she fed him, or how she even got it? Kind of a devious plot element, even if it's totally bonkers and mostly unexplained.
Anyway, I thought I'd save you all some time checking this one out. It's not really worth your effort.
