There’s this one Harry. I don’t know if the name has changed slightly though?

Thanks Herlock.Being that it was in 1949 that I drank there,there might very well have been slight changes in name and structure,and though I was sober on entering,the same cannot be said of my departure.For some reason I remember it as 'The Old Boot'.Might have been slang.

Looking at this bit of history Harry it’s certainly an old pub so the locals in ‘49 might easily have known it as The Old Boot.

I’ve heard that phrase Harry but I didn’t know that it was an Army phrase.

'Old Boot','Old Biddy','Old Slouch', etc,were army slang,Herlock.Not saying they were used exclusivly,or were the invention of the Army though.
