Here's an interesting BBC radio series devoted to "Soundscapes of the Past." This one presents "the acoustical world of Dickens' London."
There are 5 sub-programs at the link below. They present the sounds of:
1. The Victorian Street,
2. Victorian Occupations (such as Billingsgate fish auctions, musical butchers, & costermongers)
3. The Victorian Home,
4. The Docks,
5. Victorian Entertainment.
