The graveside scene at the end was a bit odd.
It was filmed at Bunhill Fields

Which was a fairly posh burial ground and had closed by the time of the ripper murders.
Kelly was buried in a public graveyard somewhere, presumably not with a big head stone.

As a point of trivia, Bunhill Fields is just up the road from where James Kelly murdered his wife (he being considered a possible ripper suspect).
Its a historic place in its own right and worth a visit.

No, Philips book appeared in episode 2, when the team are handed books by the DI.

I thought that finished off a very good drama, and was very impressed the way, they got all the names into the show. I will have to get the DVD now.

Was the book that was being burned Philips?

In answer to the theories regarding a sequel,
The ratings where great, the reviews where good, and it was discussed right across the web.
The real nod to a possible sequel came at the end of the show, a body, found dead, under some arches....

Although the Ripper murders ended at Mary Kelly, let us not forget there where more bodies found after this period.

I had a feeling it was someone at the hospital, purely becuase I listened to Robert D'Onston Stephenson, when he blamed it on Dr Davies, so I was looking for someone at the hospital. I also noticed in the first quarter, when they went to arrest the immigrant, that Dr Cohen, Dr Phillips, and Frances Coles where loitering in frame for longer than they should have.

It was also telling, that Frances Coles had quite a big billing, appearing on IMDB from the 1st episode!

The reason why Cohen was at Phillips flat, was both he and Phillips was supposed to go round to meet Coles. When she opened the door and asked where her boyfriend was Cohen replied,
"He got held up in A+E" indicating he should have been there, he also remarked,
"He told me to take good care of you" indicating he knew Coehen was on his way round.

I was hoping for the DI and Ripperologist to team up and fight crime, conspiracies, and the unexplained, but it wasn't to be.

I loved the scene where Miles questions the DI's sexual orientation, "I'm Not Gay!"

Nice to see the DI with the gang, and finally getting on with Miles...."Fish Food"

Anyway, off for some Green Tea and Hobnobs! It makes you think apparently!

and what about the flat? could they not gain his details from the records there? bank details etc etc? hospital would have his national insurance number etc etc or was that all faked and he was a true "John Doe"?

Hi Pablito: I suppose it depends where you live? There's not much work about anywhere in the UK at the moment

that sounds great. Have you seen Nightwatch Mystery? It is normally one of these crappy police camera action type things but when the mystery one is on they always go over these old murder mysteries and reconstruct them, often its Victorian Crime stories. Its actually very good.

I have a degree in film and used to work as a runner many moons ago but gave it up. How would I go about getting into that?

    Thanks for the info.
