    The London Nobody Knows

This documentary used to be on YouTube, but it seems to have vanished.

The wonderful moment when James Mason visits 29 Hanbury Street is at 37.50.

    Enjoy!

There seem to be bits of the 1967 James Mason film here and there on YouTube, but I couldn't find the Hanbury Street portion.

I've mentioned this previously, but back in about 1970 on a stinking hot day I walked the East End and remaining Ripper sites - a very different East End to what it is today. At 29 Hanbury Street I actually had my hand on the door, but as I had the strong impression that someone was still living there, I chickened out and scarpered. Not long after that the place was demolished. It was a real dump, sad to say.

Been on DVD since 2008. Amazon.
Still on YouTube if you wish to use a dodgy looking link to view it again.

That's right. I bought a copy on eBay several years ago and posted a few snapshots on this thread:-
