While I don't doubt she was in arrears, I've wondered before if McCarthy may have said a much higher amount than was actually due, in hopes that her relatives might be held responsible for what she owed and he could score some free cash. I bet he would be thinking, well it's worth a try!! That might also explain why no relatives were there for her funeral.
