  • Did Maria Harvey vanished ?

So, Maria Harvey vanished after MJK jury in Shoreditch ?

    Is there's not a single trace of her post-nov 1888 ?

She was close to MJK and should have many things to tell…

Yes, there's a 1959 photo of her in the current Ripperologist internet magazine.

Unless it's a photo of someone else called Harvey, of course.

Well, Chris's best guess is here
Discussion of the numerous "witnesses" who gave their testimony either to the press or the police during the murder spree.

and I'm afraid that is all, Gene. This is a good bet for Maria Harvey. Unfortunately we do not have any newspaper interviews by her, although one might conceivably turn up in the future.

Thank you Chris and Robert (and Bridewell too) for clues... I believe this is a good track but isn't THIS Maria Harvey too old for being MJK 'mate: i would think she was quite the same age (around 25 and not 40's) in 1888 ?

I really can't understand that someone who was so close (in space and time!) with what happened on Miller's Court nov. 9, 1888, did not leave more tracks and interviews...

And Stephen, do you know the link for that picture in the Ripperologist ?

But 1959 ??? How old could Maria Harvey be in such a year ? This 71 years after the case ! She would be nearly 100 Y O !

Below is the "Mrs Harvey" in the latest Ripperologist.
The context is that it is part of a 1959 photo set in a pub with Dan Farson and a group of people who claimed some connection to the case.
I would venture to suggest this is NOT Maria Harvey on three counts:-
              1) No forename is given - the woman is referred to in the caption as just "Mrs Harvey"
              2) Her age - this photo is dated 71 years after the murders!
              3) The claimed link for this woman to the murders is that "she thinks she once met the killer" but surely being a close friend of Mary Kelly and having stayed with her two nights in the week she died is a much closer claim to fame?

Great, Chris, thank you... I totally agree with your judgment and mostly about the age of this Mrs Harvey: it seems impossible (for me) that this woman could be the adult female known in Miller's Court as a close friend to MJK, in nov.1888

PS : Do we have any testimony from the real Maria Harvey, saying "she thinks she once met the killer" ?

By the way, Chris, are you the Chris Scott that "coulourcoded" the demolition pict ?

and people already told you that i guess, but your colour coding insists on the proximity between Mrs Prater's room and n° 13.
