    If the shoe fits...

    Ok gentlemen,

I"ll accept that you can fit Bury into whatever description you wish. Many ripperheads like to fit their favored suspect into whatever description best fits. One poster likes Druitt for the sailor man and Lynn Cates believes Mrs. Long's description is of his man Jacob Isens......Let's face it, all the vague descriptions could fit any number of Whitechapel men of the era so they are of little value...

So yes your 5'3" Bury with the Semitic profile could be Mrs. Long's man.........but 28 to over 40 is a big jump whether a leather faced drunkard or not.............

I have to say that after posting my earlier comment, I briefly joined 'Canal World' in order to put some questions to its members.

I remember that the 'Jam Ole Run' was far more modern, and the dock workers dressed liked ordinary working men of the time, and not like sailors.
