Rereading Sugden and he mentions that Tom Cullen - in his 1964 research - came across a James Bousfield. Bousfield was 83 years old and the son of Martha's previous landlady. He claimed to be in possession of a key ring, one of the trinkets Martha hawked. Does anyone know what has happened to this item?

    Hi Barnaby,

This is a subject which is of considerable interest to me. There is an excellent family tree on Ancestry which contains a photo of James Bousfield and a scan of the page in Cullen’s book that mentions the key chain. Clearly Bousfield’s descendants are aware of the reputed existence of the item, but there’s no note attached to the tree to suggest that it still exists.
