  • McKenzie's Throat

I'm not very good at the medical stuff and over at JTR forums the suggestion seems to be Alice's throat was cut back to the verterbrae, whereas other sources suggest it was a much more superficial wound that didn't run around the neck.

Could do with some help picturing Alice's throat wound vis a vis the others' wounds.

    What was the difference?

    Thanks.

I’ve not got my copy of Bond’s published forensic medicine to hand, but, if you go to https://www.casebook.org/victims/mckenzie.html this has a summary. On the canonical five victims, there were score marks on the vertebrae (it can be argued if these were deliberate decapitation attempts or just from going too deep) Alice had no such marks. Bond suspected that she was a Ripper victim but Philips didn’t. The description on here would suggest more of a stab than a slice movement, but the published works of Bond might have more details,
