At the scene of the Kelly murder we find that various body parts have been carefully placed at different locations: liver between the feet, one breast under the head, flesh from the abdomen & thighs on the bedside table etc? Did the killer just throw things about at random or did he carefully place the various parts where he could find them again? My understanding is that her heart was taken. I'm just wondering not stating as a fact - just wondering whether the killer may have intended to return for other parts later in the day, if the body was not discovered. A uterus from Chapman, a kidney from Eddowes, a heart from Kelly - a different body part each time. A killer who was familiar with the story of Frankenstein (published 1818)?

I very much doubt he would have wanted to come back and even if he did, he would have done that before dawn, so chances of being spotted were slim.
I think he deliberatedly placed the body parts where he did. He had plenty of time after all, being indoors. If he "dumped" the body parts, I would expect them to be on the floor.
If he wanted to take more than the heart, he could have. There was clothing left in the room, so he could have used those to carry the organs away. It was not uncommon in those days to see someone carrying around a wrapped parcel.
Greetings,

Umm, shouldn't you see Abby Normal for that?
Cheers.

I believe Stephen considers me to be a better candidate and, in the case of this particular thread, I think he may have a point!I won't always agree but I'll try not to be disagreeable.

This is what happens when Lt Colombo turns evil. He takes out Kelly's organs, slashes her face and strips her flesh to the bone. Then he leaves. "Thank goodness he's gone," thinks Kelly. But no. Shortly afterwards a head reappears round the door : "There's just one thing that bothers me..."
