Perhaps members here can help to clarify for me what happened to MJK's heart. I have seen a newspaper report at the time of the murder that specifically states taht no part of the body was taken away by the killer.In his report Dr Bond says 'the pericardium was open below and the heart absent.' This could of course mean that the heart was merely not in its normal position in the body, but while he describes where the other organs were found about the room no mention is made of finding the heart. Does any one know of an official police or inquest report that says the heart was found or was the heart taken away by the killer, and this information held back from the press for police reasons? If the heart was taken away by the killer is there significance that he chose Kelly's heart and not the uterus as with ptrevious victims?

For me its never going to be clear as to what happened with her heart or any other organ. The correct way would have been to complete a checklist while recording the weight of each significant organ as is done today. My personal opinion however is that no organ was removed as per Philips opinion. That is only based on the fact that it appears Pollys organs were not removed for whatever reason and that I believe JTR was more interested in effect rather than organ procurement. Of course thats an opinion with not much if any weight attached to it.
