  • More initials hidden in the photo, or simply patterns ?

During further enhancement work on a slightly better copy (original sepia image) of the MJK crime scene photo, may I draw your attention to the area of where the right hand should be.
Now this will sound rediculous and I'm the first to admit that, but on the bedding sheet in the area of the hand there appears to be the written letters S and A, then next to that covered by a flap of material, what could be a letter O or C.

I'm sure this is just a deceptive set of stains that makes the mind seek some sort of sense out of the mess, and I'm certain Jack would not leave his calling card by leaving a written clue scribed in blood on the sheets.

Here's a cropped copy of the image with the area of interest marked in red.
The second close-up crop below shows the pattern/letters more clearly.

I'll go and find my hard hat to bounce all the flack away now :-)

    Best,
    Steve

      Greetings, Steve.

It's a fold of some sort. It may be part of her shift. Do we know what is in that part of picture? Could it be a sleeve?

I'll rejoin this thread after post #10.

In the meantime here's the dog under the table.

        Slept through the whole thing.

          Hi Stephen,
Sorry about the huge picture. That should not have happened.
I'm unable to edit my posts unfortunately.
I've checked the FAQ for edit instructions, but I don't have an edit button :-(

If the mods read this then they are welcome to delete the large pic and just leave the small one.

Many Thanks for letting me know.

          Best
          Steve

Greetings to you too Christine :-)
Yes, it's a fold of bedding or her shift, perhaps a bit of both and a sleeve too!
It does look like lettering but it can't be.
I thought I'd post it just for interest all the same as one never knows!!!

            Best,
            Steve

              Hi Steve

There's an 'Edit' box at the bottom of posts.

Click on this if you see there's a mistake after you've clicked 'Submit Reply'

This returns you to where you created the post.

Make whatever corrections then click 'Save'.

I think that there's a half hour time limit on this.

At the bottom of all posts is an 'Edit' box. Clicking on this sends you back to where you created the post and you can change it any which way you want. There's a time limit, maybe half an hour (I'm not sure). Then you click the 'Save' box and hey presto the corrected post reappears on the thread.

                Hi Stephen,
No wonder I couldn't see the edit box at the bottom right of my post - the ruddy thing had timed out! I'd gone mooching through other posts elswhere after I made this starting post and only came back when I saw your name here and your message to resize. By then it was too late.

Always a pleasure to see you Stephen, and thank you once more for your kind help.

                Best Steve
ps, liked the dog under the table :-)

                  Likewise I'm sure, Steve.

Your Millers Court diagram was a thing of beauty.

One thing I noticed on the jumbo photo is that the left hand little finger (thought by some to be a thumb ho ho on the other picture) seems here to be bent down, curling under itself as it were.

Rigor mortis can cause the fingers to clench, Stephen:

"No measurable shortening of muscle occurs during rigor mortis unless the muscles are subjected to tension. When rigor is fully developed, the joints of the body become fixed, and the state of flexion or extension of these joints depends upon the position of the trunk and limbs at the time of death. If the body is supine then the large joints of the limbs become slightly flexed during the development of rigor. The joints of the fingers and toes are often markedly flexed due to the shortening of the muscles of the forearms and legs." (See this article.)

Kelly's body was supine, and both her arms would certainly have been subjected to tension - the left arm being placed across the torso, and the right being "abducted" from the body and lying across the mattress. Bond wrote:

"The right arm was slightly abducted from the body and rested on the mattress. The elbow was bent, the forearm supine with the fingers clenched."

It's conceivable that Bond's not mentioning this detail in respect of Kelly's left arm/hand was simply an omission on his part, or maybe rigor had just commenced in the extremities by the time the body came to be photographed.

                          Hi Sam,
I've sent a pm to the moderator so I would hope the oversized image should soon be removed.
It was my fault for uploading the wrong sized image from my ever increasing jtr files, I usally keep them to the max 800 pix size.

                          My apologies to all.

                          Best, Steve

                            Hi Steve

750 pix wide and/or 550 pix high gets it all on the screen at the same time.

Don't worry, I had my technical problems too, while joining a few years ago!

What it comes to the pattern, I only see a sleeve!
