    The Inquest

    Hi All,

Do we know why Inspector James Nairn [Nearn] of N Division [Islington] was watching the Mary Kelly inquest with Arnold and Abberline?

    Regards,

    Simon

    Hi Simon,

    From the Nov 12 Times:

"Since the murders in Berner-street, St. George's, and Mitre-square, Aldgate, on September 30, Detective-Inspectors Reid, Moore, and Nairn, and Sergeants Thicke, Godley, M'Carthy, and Pearce have been constantly engaged, under the direction of Inspector Abberline (Scotland-yard), in prosecuting inquiries..."

Nairn was part of the ongoing investigative team, hence his presence at inquest.

      Hello Roy!

A sensible question in that sense, that he is so little known; for example, not being presented on the "Police Officials" section on these boards!

      All the best
