    Hello you all!

Mathilde, welcome on my behalf too! Better late than never!

What it comes to the men in MJK's company, I personally cannot consider seriously Mr. Astrakhan and Mr. Blotchy.

Since I sincerely think, that JtR was the unnoticed everyday-man outside!

    All the best
    Jukka

      Hi Jukka,

Although I can understand why you may want to discard Astrakan Man, .....since he was in fact deemed less than believable by Nov 16th by the authorities,.... as you can tell by my opening post, there can be no legitimate answer that doesnt involve explaining what happened to Blotchy Man first.

As there cannot be for Kate and Sort-of-Sailor looking man, or Elizabeth with Broadshouldered Man.

If we stick to what was believed by the authorities.....

-Mary Jane was last seen, reliably, on November 8th at approx. 11:45pm. (Simon...thats why the 8th rather than the 9th.
-She was in the company of a Blotchy Faced Man.
-They entered her room together at approx 11:45pm.
-No-one in the court or living at 26 Dorset sees or speaks with Mary Jane after 11:45pm on the 8th, (she is heard singing in her room until approx 1:15am),....until Elizabeth Prater looked through the window late in the morning of the 9th while getting water from the pump and saw her corpse.
-No witnesses report ever seeing any light from Marys room after 1:30am.
-No witnesses stated they heard anything from Marys room after she finished singing at quarter past one. Although Elizabeth Prater and Sarah Lewis thought they heard a womans voice cry "oh-murder" at around 3:45am. Neither stated that they thought it was from Mary Kelly or her room specifically, Sarah believed it at her door, and Elizabeth "as from the court".
-Bowyer finds her corpse in bed when he comes to see about collecting some rent just before 11:00am.

Thats 11 full hours since she was actually seen by someone who police thought was legtimate in their accounting of their observations. We only know that the body had not been dead 11 hours, based on the senior medical opinions, which means she is killed sometime between 11:45pm on the 8th, and approx 10:45am, on the 9th. We have statements saying she was heard singing until quarter past one, then her room became silent and dark before 1:30am. So the time frame is sometime between 1:30am and 10:45am.

It has been suggested that she may have been killed some 8 hours before she is found, if so, that means she probably was killed at approx 2:45am. That leaves Blotchy Face an hour from lights out in her room, to either leave, or be there when she dies. And therefore his departure would be when Mary Ann Cox is about to come back in for the night.

      Best regards as always Jukka.

I chose to commemorate her death on the 9th, not the 8th, as they is when when I think she was murdered.
        Best regards,
        Adam
