  • What's in a name?

Most people familiar with the Nichols inquest know that newpapers didn't always get names right, for example George Cross and Robert Baul.

    Here's a few I have found.

And here's a street name wrong. I think Praed-street is supposed to be Brady-street. The Pall Mall Gazette · Monday, September 03, 1888.

The Parson Street mentioned in a couple of papers, the route Cross supposedly took that morning is interesting. Some say he meant Barnsley Street which for me is a bit of a stretch.

If Brady can become Praed, the Barnsley become Parson seems possible.
