PC Neil signalling to Thain question

This i'm sure will hopefully be an easy question to clarify? when PC Neil signalled PC Thain in Baker's row, did he blow his whistle? if so how many times? or did they use another method of signalling?

    From the horse's mouth—

"I heard a constable passing Brady-street, so I called him. I did not whistle. I said to him, "Run at once for Dr. Llewellyn," and, seeing another constable in Baker's-row, I sent him for the ambulance."

Baker's Row was not visible from where Nichols' body lay.
Never believe anything until it has been officially denied.

No, he specifically said thay he did not use his whistle, he only "called him".
PC Thain, for his part, says he was "signalled by a constable's lamp in Buck's row".
