Polly and the great fire on the Docks

    Hi everybody
Sorry if that thread has already been discussed, but, is there any clue or testimony that Polly attended (or just passed by) the great fire on the docks that day ?

    Hi Gene

There's no record of Polly going to the docks fire that I've heard of, she was last seen alive at 2.30, by Ellen Holland (aka Jane Oram) who was returning from watching the fire, but Polly hadn't been with her previously, they had just met by chance, on the corner of Whitechapel road and Osborn street.

And Polly had been in her old Thrawl Street lodging house and the Frying Pan so there isn't much chance she went anywhere near the fire

With the big assumption that this was his first kill, I wonder if Jack had attended the fires and if that was a contributing factor in his decision to take his first life.
