Hi All,
New Orleans Daily Picayune, 24th February 1895—
"When Jack the Ripper was terrifying the women of the Whitechapel district the Salvation Army opened a shelter for them. One who was converted there showed an amazing faith in Providence bringing good out of evil in a prayer which she offered in meeting:
"O Lord, we thank thee for sending Jack the Ripper among us, because if thou hadst not sent him we wouldn't have come here and we wouldn't have been saved."
Regards,
Simon
