It was a miracle that poor guy survived. Shows what a nasty piece of work Lentz was.

    Hi Adam and Chris.

I’ve written, briefly, about the Senior murder a couple of times in Ripper Notes Magazine. It is probable that Lentz was the murderer of Mrs. Senior. He was eventually arrested in Summit, New Jersey, in 1909 after a brutal attack on a friend of his. Lentz smashed his friend in the head three times with a shovel, threw him down a flight of stairs, hit him again in the head with a club and finally stabbed him. Amazingly the man survived and Lentz was arrested. It turned out that this assault was an attempted robbery and the incident tends to show the type of vicious criminal Lentz was, and of the violence he was capable of when robbing his victims, even people he knew.

    Wolf.

A man named August Lentz was initially suspected of the murder. The long article below gives lots of detail and is from the New York World of 2 Feb 1892
I will post in multi part so there is no conffusion as to continuity
