No worries, Adam, always a pleasure to help.
There are a couple of more reports in The Times about the case, where her injuries are described as 'fearful', and as she appears to have died in exactly the same manner and form as Emma Smith, dying from a ripped perineum (I assume?) the case does cast new light on the circumstances of Emma Smith's murder - or even manslaughter - and indicated to me, when I first found the case, that Smith was not the victim of a serial killer, but rather the victim of a gang.
Interesting that the actual date of the vicious assault was the 6th August, in 1881 of course.
The Old Bailey is down at the moment, but as soon as it is back on line I'll read through the verdict again.
