Just been listening to the Rippercast on Klosowski and listened with interest to the theory of R. Michael Gordon, who suggests that the Ripper, worried that he would be recognised as Annie Chapman's killer, decided to murder Elizabeth Long but on the night of the double event, accidently murdered Liz Stride when he got mixed up, mistaking Long Liz for Liz Long. Can't say I buy into this theory myself and was just wondering what other people thought?

Long Liz - mistaken for Liz Long?

Afternoon Uncle,
I can't see a reason to give this theory any credence. I've mentioned before, however, that in all the years I've been reading about this case, I never saw the similarity between Liz Long and Long Liz. Once it's pointed out, it's obvious; but I never saw it. Makes me wonder what else I've overlooked.

Anyone whos surname is Stride often gets lumbered with the nickname of 'Long'.
I know 3.
