  • inside of Dutfield's Yard for reconstruction purposes

Hello, I'm trying to rebuild the murder scene in 3D and I wonder if any of you has an idea of what was in Dutfield's Yard that very night. I don't need exact position of barrels and boxes, but if there were any doors (like to one going to the socialist club), stairs, windows, or any interesting element, photos would be great or by default a plan from above.

    thanks in Advance!

    Hi TheHood.

Sadly, the only photo you'll find of Dutfields Yard is the one showing just the entrance from the south with the cartwheel on the side of the IWMC from 1908. Even this clearly shows metal railings for gates and not the gates that were there twenty years before. Unfortunately, we have to rely on sketches - of which there are quite a few - and Goads insurance plans for the rest.

I do have a rough sketch of a Goad plan if you want to PM me with your e-mail address. Curiously, there are some subtle differences from the famous sketch showing the cart from the Harold Furniss 1903 FAMOUS CRIMES series.
