Tumblety in Glasgow

I remember reading somewhere, possibly on these boards, that Tumblety had at one time visited (or claimed to have visited) Glasgow.

Does anyone have any dates for this possible visit?

For one, according to Martin McGarry in an interview with the New York World (4 Dec 1888), Tumblety at least visited Glasgow in the mid-1880s. He doesn't give a specific month or year. It's reproduced in Mike Hawley's last book.
