Ladies and Gentlemen, in the last few weeks of December 2008, you will remember that I mentioned I was to be meeting with a member of the Dawber family, a descendant of Robert D'Onston Stephenson's mother.
Well, continuing the trend, and making sure that 2009 continues to throw up new finds, I have an announcement to make....
Yesterday I was lucky enough to make contact with a Mr. Hearfield. For those that are not familier with the name, Thomas Ward Hearfield was the Stephenson's family solicitor/lawyer!
He appeared at several of the families notable events, and stood as defendant to Richard Stephenson Junior on several occassions.
These events happened during the 1870's and covered,
The Church Street Property Scandal,
The St Silas Scandal,
Yesterday I forwarded all the newspaper cuttings of Thomas Ward Hearfield to Mr. Hearfield for inclusion on a new website showing the families genealogy!
