Here is the Wrights 1863 Trade Directory of Hull entry for businesses on Queen's Dock North Side.
The Entry starts with Grimston Street, which still stands today.
      Then we see,
      Edwin Gray, Timber Merchant
Dawber and Son, Slaters and Slate Merchants

      Several other names follow

then Vernon street, which is also in exsistance today.

I have coloured the areas of Grimston Street, Vernon street, and the probable location of both Edwin Gray, and the Dawber families yards.

The close proximity of Gray and Dawber could go some way in explaining why Gray was in Bridlington, when Stephenson was involved in the Incident at Flamborough!
