Reading Chris' fascinating discoveries about the many scrapes Msr Ostrog, and his variant aliases, got himself into, raises a bit of a question in my mind.
All his offences seemed to concern property.And involved mainly male victims.
He was described as violent on one or two occasions.
His physical appearance (big, ugly and a bit scruffy) and age, as described in the various court cases make me wonder if Msr Ostrog fits the bill.
Do any witnesses descriptions suggest Ostrog?
And most of his property offences seem to occur in very un-Whitechapel locations.
