Yes, that's a good one Rog, thank you.

But here's the thing. I'm thinking of a movie type that had at least one female character

Which begs the question -Where's Caz?

I always thought of her as one of the brave steadfast Surviving Diarists.

You are most welcome Lombro2 and the pleasure is all mine. And of course you get a complimentary toddy just for sticking around a bit.

By the way, are you from Down Under? If so, the relevant movie for you would surely by On the Beach about the survivors in Melbourne after a nuclear bomb. In which case the female part was played by the lovely Ava Gardner.

That a well to do businessman can’t find or buy a diary or some kind of notebook or letter book but instead resorts to tearing pages out of a book used for photographs is additional proof. Put this in a court of law and the Judge wouldn’t have time to take off his wig and take a sip from his cup of tea before he’d be told that the jury were coming back. Unanimously guilty. Diary a forgery. Game over.
The Judge was probably a big wig lawyer once and so he probably has no friggin' clue about the criminal classes either and wouldn't know a fence if he sat on one.

He probably doesn't know a damn thing about cold-blooded women killers either. And probably thinks Scrooge would go out and buy a proper diary and a watch, both with a proper monogram like Hitler would, as he keeps account of his female holocaust, and not use some old accounting book with blank pages. Your ideas are Scrooge and Judge Turpin and Pickton approved.

A Northern Italian invented Criminology but Thomas Harris surpassed us all. Except for Michael Barrett and his Diary of Jack the Ripper. And let's not forget David Berkowitz with his advanced Homicidal Occupational Indicators in his Son of Sam Cult story.

I'm from the Land Up Over. On The Beach was one of my favorite books and I caught some of the movie on TV once. Now it looks like it's time for everyone to go Down Under.

Strange that feel able to mock considering that I apparently need to inform you that it’s the jury that decides guilt or innocence not the Judge. Twelve men and women of varying levels of intelligence and of varying life experiences and who wouldn’t be committed to one verdict over another at all cost as you undoubtedly are. They would listen to the evidence and apply reason and common sense.

              A diary strewn with errors.
A diary with at least one anachronistic phrase.
The guy who presented it to the world just happened to have previously tried to purchase a Victorian diary.
A diary where the alleged author doesn’t try to hide his identity and yet ‘disguised’ his handwriting.
A well to do business man can’t even avail himself of a proper diary or even a notebook. He is reduced to emptying a photo album and tearing out pages.
A description within the diary of the killer and it’s f*** all like the proposed author.
              He mistakes his wife’s relative.
He gets the location of the breasts wrong.
He invents a non-existent neighbour and murder.

Oh, and the guy who presented it admitted to forging it with his wife.

              Yeah, of course it’s genuine.
              Regards

              Sir Herlock Sholmes.

Let me remind you that Socrates knew one thing.

I won't tell you what that is but I'm sure it's the one thing he knew that explains why he knows nothing. Or is the reason that he knows he knows nothing.

                What's your explanation?

To show your fairness in all things Ripper, can you tabulate a list of all the things that have been thrown at the Diary that you agree didn't stick?
