If this really is the case, then something bad turned into something good!

      Hi Jukka,

Good things virtually always come from bad things, and what I wrote was true as I know it. Nevertheless, the Diary is a plague on Ripperology. It overshadowed genuine research and the many good works that came out in the early to mid 90's. I would be curious to know who concocted it, but Lord knows I won't spend a moment's time researching such a thing.

      Yours truly,

      Tom Wescott

Stephen Parkes wrote the diary. If those who keep stiring the pot with their accusations of lies, would take the trouble to locate and talk to him, then they might be satisfied. He is'nt hiding.

In fact, I read "the diary" two years before I joined the Casebook!

Somehow I thought, that the diary was written for us, not for the Ripper himself!

I hope, I made my point clear enough!

The censorship here is worse than google China!
            All my posts keep disappearing.
            Who could be doing this?

I told you Stevie. There are two rules I am invoking. They are Casebook rules. No suspect pushing on other threads and no off-topic posts. If you want to bleat about Parks, you have your own thread to go and flog your theory. This is mine. And I will report any off topic post on my thread. If I come on your thread and start pushing my Powell did it theory, you are welcome to report those as suspect pushing and off-topic and you can be assured they will be deleted as well.

After carefully removing the photos, he realized he had a problem, no ink and his ballpoint pen just wouldn't do. He spent weeks scouring the junk shops and thrift stores of the outback, but eventually he came across what he was looking for once again in the family stores.

Ok lets stay on topic I think the Maybrick Diary was writen by George Berkley

And his wife wrote the sonets

PS Is it possible to report off topic threads that have nothing to do with JtR and are clearly in the wrong section? and should be moved to pub talk?

You can say whatever you want that's relevant to the idea that you created the diary. If you want to just confess and get it over with, we'd all appreciate the end of the drama.

Kind of a pisser when someone creates a thread devoted to accusing you of something based only on their own unsupported ideas and absolutely no facts to back it up and there's nothing you can do about it. Isn't it?

The handwriting would be a problem he knew....so at this point he decided he would enlist the help of Parks and began to neatly set his frame...

So you are now saying that indeed Steven Park
                      penned the diary?

I am saying you tricked the poor boy into copying down your shoddy text. Innocent dupe that he was, he didn't realize you were going to use it to frame him for the hoax.

Naive Parks, completely unaware of the seething hatred that his less admired "friend" Powell held for him, believed Powell when he said that they were going to create a book and music set piece, a thematic work, a rock opera if you will. He took up the pen at Steve's behest, and sealed his doom...

                                Hello you all!

                                I just thought about one thing;

Thanks to messiers Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starkey I know, that the Liverpudlian working man's English was called Scouse.

But did the people in Maybrick circles have their own distinctive version of English too?!

If they did, then "The Ripper Diary" becomes even more ridiculous. In that case the "Liverpudlian Ripper" would probably have been arrested already after the first or the second murder!

                                All the best
