for me the blood evidence means that if blood was still oozing, coupled with the fact that she was possibly still breathing when tjey found her, means that she was only very recently attacked. of course that dosnt negate an unknown killer who bolted right before lech got there.
That's the point isn't it. It can't and never will rule out someone murdering Polly just before Cross gets there. Erm hence it's absolutely worthless as evidence against him.
