I wouldn't have thought to look for him as Grant but the birth in Ireland seems to support it being him. He just pipped wife Elizabeth to the post. Interestingly she was described as a widow in probate records in the UK.

So there's the reference to finding the actual probate records, but it will necessitate visiting the National Archives' reading room.
