I suppose to be sure that this was all just a coincidence, it will require that the Kozminski novels be bought and read through and checked for any morsel of insider knowledge - though somehow, I have a gut feeling that Mr Evans did just that 20 or 30 years ago.

I think it will be difficult to be sure it was just a coincidence, because any inside knowledge might not have amounted to anything more than the surname (which might also explain why Harrison would not have thought it worth mentioning when he wrote his own Ripper book, because by then the Aberconway description of Kosminski had already been published).

What has Harrison to do with the press article in the first post here?

The Inspector Kozminski novels were published under the name Quentin Downes, which was a pseudonym of Michael Harrison.
