Using your logic, neither Lechmere nor Paul found the body, since they we're not sure that the woman was dead. So in your view, Neil WAS the finder of the body. Right?
Using MY logic, Lechmere found the body, and then Paul came along and was pointed to it by Lechmere.
If we find something by feeling our way in a dark space, that something HAS been found by us, regardless of what it is. It is not as we find "something", and that something only becomes a ball, a fork, a bicycle or whatever once the light is turned on, is it? No, it is what it is throughout, and we therefore find it when we first notice it and not when the light goes on.
The dangerous thing about trying to peddle your view that Lechmere and Paul found the body together is that it will skew the real picture into one where Lechmere has an alibi.
And you really wouldn't want to do that, would you...?
