Anyway - since Aaron never married, this would have been his substitute for a 'healthy sexual relationship,' although since he masturbated compulsively, it seems to suggest that he felt like doing it on urges, or perhaps as a comfort for him or when he was bored, taking away its means as a deliberately sexual form of stimulation in some circumstances.
