The Mosquito incident

I presume it is the Mosquito incident. I don't have the article from that issue, just the illustrations.

Yes indeed, but I am having trouble finding the provenance of the story. Who told the story originally, so that the reporter made the sketch? There were various witnesses from Hastings at the trial, but none told this story.
