Hi,
Author Stephen Senise, has recently fuelled interest in the witness George Hutchinson . It was very much debated around 2009, and not a lot since.
Have any of you got strong opinions on who this witness was, and his involvement in the case.?

His military appearance strongly suggests we are discussing "sailorman", who was trained as a youngster on the Exmouth.

As "Lechmere"/Ed Stow discovered,he later had an unexplained child living with him.
I found the parents at Primrose Street,the extension of Hanbury Street,which was on Jack's way home from The London Hospital.It's the street past Spital Square,where Phillips resided.

The case is about Jack the Ripper's sexual orientation going back to the 1860s and the CV5 attempts to blackmail him.

Hutchinson was the lookout for a payoff that went wrong.

So, as you can see there can be little doubt that Lewis witnessed the same people and events described by Hutchinson.

There is indeed little doubt that the stories are essentially the same, as it is that Sarah gave her story to the police shortly after the murder was discovered and the details were out in the general publics knowledge for 3 days..at which time she appeared at the Inquest into the crime, and long before George gave his story, behind closed doors, to one person, with what can only be described as "fantastic detail" about a man supposedly accompanying Mary Kelly to her room. After an Inquest statement from someone who had to pass by Mary Kellys door anytime she went in or out that night, and who stated that she saw the woman arrive home before midnight.. apparently very drunk, with someone who doesn't match Astrakans description at all.

The statement you refer to was a blanket statement passed to the press association by the police .
He was never interviewed by a reporter
