There was an eyewitness, and there was an
    identification.

What left are circles, smoke, and mirrors

It's some guff about a particular surgeon bumping off victims and something about blackmail. With absolutely nothing to back it up.

Try telling that to Eddowes after her next door neighbor was murdered.

    * Reid thought there were 9 victims killed between 1888 and 1892. That appears to dismiss Kosminki and definitely dismissed Druitt. In 1912 he said nobody knew who the Ripper was, specifically dismissing all of McNaughton's suspects.

Most other police did not say how many victims they thought there were.
    Hi Fiver,

Of those you have named, Abberline and Reid were the experienced "feet on the ground" experts, Reid possibly more so as Abberline was "imported" for the task. Of Reid's nine victims, no one knows if they were all by the same hand, or the distribution if they were not.

    Cheers, George

130 plus years the greatest crime mystery still discussed by people around the world. Opinions so varied and speculative that no one can come to conclusion as each has, some merit for most part.. Everyone looking for a open door to the truth

I have no doubt that Major Henry Smith knew.

    Ditto Abberline.

Doubt it was a big secret in certain circles like the medical profession.
