I always thought there was something Fishy about him though.

Whether Bern Icia on JtRForums (Aethelwulf on here) saw this thread or not he has just posted this drawing of Bury and his wife, apparently done from a photograph in August of 1888.

Just jotting down some further thoughts on Bury. Some serial killers are domestically very violent, despite appearing totally normal at other times. Some even carry out this abuse in front of others. I noticed that some of Steve Wright’s (Suffolk Strangler) pattern domestic abuse bears an uncanny similarity to William Bury’s

Enhanced and colourized photo of Lechmere shows his full beard.

The James Kelly beard in that first picture is interesting.

I've zoomed in and sometimes I think I see shadow, other times I see beard.

It's a bit like that cream / gold or blue / black dress that went viral!!!

I'm tempted to do a poll in pub talk just to gauge what others are seeing.

I can help you here, if you look at Kelly's second picture when he was older, you will see that he had a relatively long chin, now look back at the first picture, if one thinks that is not a beard and just a shadow, then kelly's chin will become very short.

Chins don't grow longer and longer the older we grow

Shadowing doesn’t stop at a certain point though. It’s the position of the light source and not the shape of the face that counts. And again, this photograph was taken at Broadmoor when he was first incarcerated in 1883. When he escaped in 1888 a description of him was given with no beard. Another description of him was given by his friend in 1895, again with no beard. So even if he did have a growth on his committal he had none when he escaped.

Ruling out a suspect because they had a beard, is a bit like saying that the reason why Stride wasn't mutilated was because she was menstruating.

It's a complete nonsense; because it's a changeable parameter that alters depending on timing.

Now if we ruled out a suspect because they only had one eye, were 6ft 7 and only had 1 hand, then that would make more sense.

Beards can be shaved and grow back within days.

It's a waste of time. Period.

I am impressed with your collection of photographs, except this one which is a photograph of an Australian politician. I'd be even more impressed if you could come up with the genuine photo that has been reported to exist of Grainger, which supposedly bears a striking resemblance to Druitt.
