  • Poll regarding ripper suspects that can be proven innocent of the torso killings

I strongly lean towards the ripper killings and the torso killings being committed by the same serial killer. I would set the probability of there being 2 different serial killers; 1 for each series, at a mere 15% chance. Its possible in my view, but extremely unlikely. I think the similarities are far more notable than the differences when everything is considered. It definitely makes a difference in how I view their candidacy as a suspect.

unfortunately i dont understand the wording of your poll, so cant answer it.

Option 1 means that you would use the inability of a suspect to be the torso killer as evidence of innocence of the ripper killings when making an assessment of the case against them regarding the ripper killings.

Option 2 means that it would not be a factor.

Where's the option for "I see no significant similarities at all"?

I doubt they are the same killer, based on the opportunistic nature of the ripper killings, versus what appears to be a more "0rganized" (I think I am using the term correctly) elements of the torso killers crimes. As the torso killings include finds outside of the Whitechapel district I'm not sure geography favors an identification, but I've read less on the torso killer than the ripper.

That said, I'm not sure how this posts to your poll, and it doesn't seem to be accepting my vote.
