I don't know if there's a specific word for someone who likes to dominate his victims (I don't think you're necessarily calling him a sadist, are you?), but if there is, it's certainly possible he was one. Also possible he wasn't.

Once the victim was on the ground about to have their throat cut, its clear by the evidence that the attack didnt involve "bumping nasties" just before or after their deaths.

UNSUB would be correct. The modern use of the term sexualized crime does not transfer in it's entirety. The nomenclature was named so because it refers to drive motivated behavior in general. The external observer need no so overt sexuality within the crime for it to be a "sexual" crime.
