No way! All the evidence points towards Madame Helena Blavatsky being the copycat Ripper. She was working with Queen Victoria to cover up their scandulous lesbian affair that would rock the monarcy. And don't forget the various individuals that knew of the secret, including Virginia Woolfe, Lewis Carroll, Aleister Crowley and Joseph Merrick.

You've obviously been misinformed Uncle dear. Victoria was having an affair with Billy Connelly.
This theory makes the most sense. And it proves that Stride was killed by the Ripper (Wilde). She was found with her head in the gutter, a copy of the Star in her bonnet. And what was it Wilde said? We're all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the Stars. Hmmmmm. Even Fisherman can't find fault with this thesis!
At one point I did consider Eliot as a suspect. It would certainly establish the oft-claimed "American connection". But Eliot was a Tory of the "one nation" stripe, and frankly they would never be capable of such a thing.

Yes I can! Using Wilde, even: "Illusion is the first of all pleasures."
Add to that Wilde and Kipling had both been in America the previous year, so who can doubt they met and plotted it together? "The Record of Badalia Herodsfoot" shows that Kip.ling had been checking out the lives of streetwlkers).
Note, too, that Wilde was drawn attending the Parnell Commission. Obviously he wanted to be sure that Anderson wasn't on his trail.
I have always said that if, instead of trying to pursue honest historical search, I had cooked up a case for Oscar Wilde as jack teh Ripper, I'd bea rich man today.
