Just an idea, but could it be possible that Mr Marsh was the ripper, or at least the author of the Lusk letter?
We know that some Irish man came in the shop acting weird, but don't you think it's funny that the letter was written with an Irish flavour? Seems like the author wanted everyone to think they were Irish. Why would the Irish man incriminate himself further? Also I reckon the author was very literate. And I believe the letter is legit.
