I have no idea what you are up to, David, but I would be very grateful if you refrained from signing your posts off with my signature.

    Thank you in advance.

A man in regular employment earning 30 shillings a week would have no need of a common lodging house. Nor any wish for one, one supposes. Plumber or otherwise.

You know, David, one can be one-eyed and be in good bodily health. Moshè Dayan springs to my mind.

Certainly Fleming/Evans had two legs, but MJK's ex wasn't the same individual, and had three.

David, the purpose of the inquest was not to ascertain how many arms he had.

    Right you are, Mike.

There are two things we can be sure of :

    1 : Joseph Fleming wasn't a giant.

    2 : Joseph Fleming wasn't a dwarf.

And we can safely speculate that he had two arms, all his legs, and more than one eye.

    Cheers

I just had the best laugh in a while reading some of the posts Ive missed since my last one......if the man was a full foot taller than almost anyone else around, how in the world would it not be mentioned by people describing him? As if I would meet Shaq and only tell others that he was a nice fellow with a large shoe size...instead of noting where the top of my head came to on his chest.

Any argument that denies that logic is irrelevant.

    Cheers

    Hi Sally,

    Thank you.

Can you explain why you believe plumbers had no need of common lodging houses?

    Regards,

    Simon

It was Ben who referred to plumbers, a few posts ago. No credit here I'm afraid. I was simply pointing out that plumbers had no need of common lodging houses.

I actually think plumbers are irrelevant in any case.

    Hi Fisherman,

You could never be bad company.

The door thing is no big deal. It just seems odd to foreign eyes.

    Regards,

    Simon

    Indeed, Simon, why ?

I've got the same problem with the doors of my Volvo.

A quick check hints at it makes the doors harder to kick in! Don´t know if we ought to trust that one.

Not all do, actually. But generally, you are right. Couldn´t say why, though. Because we´re bad company...?

I´ll try and get an answer for you!
